Thengumplackal groups started its very first venture as Thengumplackal chitty funds and investments on December 12, 1999 at Adam Tower, Star Junction Kottayam. The founder of this prestigious group was Mr. T.J.Mathew.He has a long service period of 32 years as the secretary of Kumarakom Vadakumbhagom Service Co-operative Bank. After his retirement it was with this confidence he entered into this financial arena. His son, Mr. John.T.Mathew is the managing partner of this group.

In the year of 2005, they had constructed a two storied shopping complex between I C H hospital and M C H, Kottayam. On September 12th of same year, the ground floor was occupied with authorized dealership in paints and tyres and second branch of Thengumplackal Bankers started. In the year 2007, Thengumplackal jewellers which was one of the first jewellery showroom at medical college started functioning in the same shopping complex .Thengumplackal bankers started branches at Ayarkunnam 2008 and Kumarakom 2010.

On 2012, as per the rules by court order Thengumplackal chits and investments and financiers had winded up and registered all those in the name of Thengumplackal chitty funds private limited.. Every month new government approved registered chitties are started from here.
